CNA enjoys working with Seniors

Melissa Goetsch is a certified nursing assistant working at Heritage Woods, an assisted living center on Ottawa’s Etna Road. She was a former Times employee who returned to school a few years ago for nurses training. Melissa, 44, lives in Ottawa with husband, Dwayne, and they have three children.

Q: What is the one thing you’ve lost you’d most like to find?

A: A letter my grandmother wrote to me just before she died. I can’t find it.

Q: What was the best day you’ve ever had?

A: When my family went to Universal Studios in Florida. We had a great time.

Q: If you could change one thing in the world right now, what would it be?

A: There would be more available jobs for people here in this country.

Q: What’s the nicest thing a friend could do for you?

A: Be there for you in the good times and also in the bad times.

Q: If could could live the life of a cartoon character, who would it be?

A: Road Runner.

Q: What do you wish you had invented?

A: A cure for cancer.

Q: If everything you wore had to be one color, which color would you choose?

A: Purple.

Q: How many pets do you have?

A: One dog.

Q: What’s your favorite souvenir?

A: My Ryne Sandberg bobblehead.

Q: What is the most memorable gift you’ve been given?

A: Once, on Mother’s Day, my son bought me a bouquet of flowers. Fore some reason, I have never forgotten that.

Q: What do you think about your job?

A: I never thought I would be working in a job like this, but I am very happy helping the seniors here at Heritage Woods in their daily lives.
